COMMORIN FIRE
GREAT DAMAGE TO CARGO

SYDNEY, March 14
The Marine Underwriters’ Asoeiation here have received a message from Colombo stating' that all of the refrigerated cargo aboard tire Commorin has been destroyed. The mails from Australia are in grave danger. The other cargo is already damaged. The saloon decks of the liner are buckling with the heat.

COLOMBO, March 14
The Commonn is now completely out of danger and will resume tire voyage on Sunday, taking a full complement of passengers. The extent of the damage has not yet been ascertained but it is stated to be slight.
The fire was extinguished late last night. There was a slight list to starboard due to large quantities of water being Dumped into the holds. M ith the pumipng out of the water, the ship regained an even keel.
