SALVAGE WORK RETARDED
(Received this day at 9.40 a.m.) LONDON, March-8
Salvage Officer Cables states : Operations on the Cornwall, which grounded at Curacao on March 4th. are difficult owing to the deep water, and at present the work is suspended as a result of the rough sea. running. Leaks in No 1 hold are increasing, and there is danger of losing the frozen meat which probably will have to lie discharged. Lighters are being arranged for and salvage contractors have despatched assistance from Keywest.
