TWO BROTHERS CONVICTED.

BRISBANE, March 7

Two brothers, L. and S. Monteifore, were convicted on the charge of conspiring to defraud the Ocean Accident, Guarantee Corporation, as cabled on February . 26th. They have been sentenced; The former was sentenced to two years,* hut if he is able to pay £IOOO, the costs of the prosecution, it is recommended that his sentence he reduced to six months. Stanley Monteifore was sentenced to one year’s imprisonment to lie released on bond on making restitution of £290.
