DISTRIBUTION OF CANADA’S GRANT.

At last night’s meeting of the Council of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association, the Secretary, AH L. A. Tracy said in connection with the Empire Games matters had reached a point where the main question was distribution of the £1001) which had been offered by Canada in view of tlio excellent rowing eight, which would bo available and especially as a hold up had occurred before the last Olympic Games, and the rowing eight had been unable to leave. ft was felt that Now Zealand should 'bo represented in this way. It would cost roughly eighteen hundred to send eight and the question he wished to place before the meeting was whether the Amateur Athletic Association would he prepared to forego its sham of the Canadian grant in favour of the rowing eight. The meeting decided to, adopt this course and urged individual sports to appeal for funds on their own behalf.
