RESIGNATION FROM SELECT'
COMMITTEE.

WELLINGTON, March 7
Hon J. B. Donald (Minister of Industries and Commerce) stated to-day that Air H. R. Jenkins, AI.P. had resigned his: position as a member of the Select Committee appointed by the House of Representatives to enquire into and report upon certain manufacturing industries of the Dominion. Air Jenkins had stated that his resignation was due to his being no longer a memiber of the Government Party. The other members of the Committee are Air D. G. Sullivan, Air A. Harris and the Hon J. G. Cobbe, who is at present in Samoa. The position, therefore, is that the Government is left without any representation on the committee. The situation which has arisen, Air MacDonald states, is being considered by Cabinet and an announcement of the Government’s intentions in. the matter will be made shortly.
