PROMOTIONS' ANNO UNCED

WELLINGTON, March 4

The following police transfers and promotion,s were announced this afternoon by the Commissioner of Police (Air W. B. Mcllveney):—

Sergeant W. P. Oilligan is transferred front Dunedin to Timaru, to replace Sergea.nt Peterson, who has taken charge at Blenheim.

Sergeant S. G. Hall, District Clerk at Dunedin, replaces Sergeant Gilligan ; in that city. Detective P. Kearney is transferred I from Wellington to New Plymouth as an addition to the strength of the Detective Force in Taranaki.

Constable A. Christiansen, of Waiuku takes charge at Rakaia. Constable A. Bisset, of Wellington, ,s to take charge at Waiuku. Constable A. Mcßae, of North Dunedin, is to take charge l at Waikiwi. Constable R. T. Beadle, of'Waikiwi, is to take charge of North Invercargill, vice Constable Melville (deceased).

Constable W. D. Thorn, of Teararoa, takes charge of Ormondville, replacing Constable Murphy (resigned). 'Constable P. J. Mullah, of Hawera, takes charge of Teararoa. Constable W. Heslop Hastings) takes charge of G vanity Station, replacing Constable O’Connor (deceased). Constable D. A. Bowick, of Christchurch, goes to Hastings. Constable J. T. Mills, of Christchurch, goes to Hamilton. Constable A. J. Kelly, of Auckland, is transferred to Rotorua.

Constable G. A. Hastie, of Dunedin, goes to Temuka. Constable A. H. Canning (Dannevirke) goes to Napier. Constable Chapman, of Wellington, is transferred to Dannevirke.

Constable G. Er Callagham, of Auckland, goes to Hamilton. Constable F- F. Healy, of Wellington, goes to Hawera. Constable F. T. Furnev, of Christcnurch, goes to Oamaru. Constable E. A. Dunn, of Hamilton, is transferred to Christchurch. Constable J. TI. McCormick, of Oamaru, is transferred to Christchurch. Constable D. Flannery, of Napier, takes temporary charge of Millerton Station.
