MASTERTON, March 6

At the Supreme Court this morning Mavis Jacobsen and Grace Christina Jacobsen who pleaded guilty in the lower Court to charges of perjury in connection with a motor 'fatality at Masterton in October last, the same as Buckley was concerned in, were admitted to probation for three months conditionally that they pay the costs ol the prosecution and that they keep away from dance halls during their probation.

A sentence oif seven years’ hard was imposed by Judge Blair on Joseph Ford, who pleaded guilty at Palmerston North to a charge of incest. Ilis Honour could not see a single redeeming feature in the case.

COURT SENTENCES. WELLINGTON, March 6

Harry Coconno, Cederic Maitland Gay, Ernest Charles Smith, three young men who had admitted two rliarges of breaking, entering and theft, all of whom had been previously convicted, were sentenced to three years Borstal to-day by Judge Blair. Albert John Higgs on a similar charge got two years Borstal. Ernest Reginald Dott, alias McTarrish on a charge of theift and entering and theft; eighteen months hard.

His Honour remarked that Dott had been in New Zealand a few months and his conduct would lead one to believe he left some other country for a very good reason. Dott robbed a constable who befriended him. Robert Irvine Ownes, on three charges of breaking, entering theft, and breaking and entering with intent to commit crime, three years hard. Raymond Dundas Gordon, 22, whom His Honour remarked who seemed to have embarked on a life of crime; three years hard, for breaking and entering and theft.

On a similar charge of breaking and entering with intent to commit a crime, Alfred Joseph Osborne got three months.

MASTER TON. March 6

At the Supreme Court this morning. Athol George Buckley, who was found guilty yesterday, was sentenced to three months on a charge of perjury, arising out of a motor fatality last October at Master ton.

Buckley pleaded guilty to obstructing the course of justice and was sentenced to three months concurrently with that imposed in the perjury charge.
