In anticipation of a Communist demonstration on 6th. March, in accordance with orders from Moscow, an Estlioninn self-defence corps arranged to test the alarm, calls at four in the morning by the ringing of bells and blowing of foghorns arousing the population. The corps promptly occupied the Government office, railway stations and military patrols arrested several suspects without passports. They surprised a bunch of Communists sallying out with rifles, believing that a military revolt had occurred. The test alarm was carried out satisfactory, except for a single accident when an over zealous military pa;trdl! fired on a limousine, which had not halted to show its documents, wounding a Staff-Alajor-General and killing an Adjutant.
