KIRKWOOD COMPLAINS

The golfer, Kirkwood, who is lamenting his detention in quarantine while Hagen is given his freedom, has again sent a complaint to the press declaring he is disgusted with the bathing and toilet arrangements, being compelled to use the same facilities as Chinamen, Indians and Fijians. He could scarcely believe he was in a white man’s country.
NAKKUNDA’S PATIENT
SYDNEY, March f». Advice received from the Narkiiudu en route to Fremantle, states the small-pox patient was a second-class male passenger, who presumably contracted the disease in Bombay, where it was raging.
NARK FE DA’S SMALLPOX
COLOMBO. March 5
Swann, a second saloon passenger who contracted smallpox, was on a nival of the Nark<irda in a very serious condition, and there' is little' hope tor his recovery.
The vessel, before leaving for Ausralia was placed in strict quarantine. Tim passengers were vaccinated and the ship disinfected.
