LONDON, March 4

In the Commons the Conservatives tabled a censure motion cm which they are seeking an early debate deploring depression in trade and an increase in unemployment resulting from t,he Government’s policy, and regretting the Government’s refusal not only not to extend safeguarding of Imperial preference, but even to declare! its intentions of regarding existing safeguarding of McKenna silk and other duties, thereby increasing uncertainty and distress. LONDON, March 5. In the Commons the Labour Party tabled an amendment on the Conservative censure motion. The amendment deplores the trade depression and increased unemployment due to the previous Government’s policy, and welcomes the r Government’s measures to' assist trade and restore prosperity. It expressed confidence that necessary action would be undertaken rapidly and vigorously, and expresses the opinion a fiscal policy should he framed in the interests lof the whole people, not sectional advantages ol particular groups’ of manufacturers.

In the Commons, Air Gillett. in answer to a question, said the British organisations concerned in industry, commerce and shipping was communicating with similar organisations in the Dominions, with a view to lidding an Imperial business men’s conference simultaneously with the Imperial Conference.
