IN THE COMMONS. LIBERALS’ AMENDMENT LOST. (Received this day at 9.40 a.m.) RUGBY, Feb. 27. In the House of Commons this evening, the Liberal amendment to..- the Coal Mines Bill', seeking to confine schemes.in part of the Bill to the marketing of coal, and omitting schemes for regulating the output, was rejected by 2-80 votes to 271. The Conservatives, who supported tlie amendment, constituted of course, a greater portion of the minority 7 vote. 7 p)io result was received with great Labour cheering.
