CLERK’S THEFT

DUNEDIN, February 26. James Albert .Simes, aged about)) 19, employed as a clerk at the Bank of New Zealand at Alexandra, was this morning charged before Justices of the Peace with the theft of £SOO front the bank. The money was missed on Monday morning, and the accused admitted the theft to Constable Sorrell and Detective Nuttall. He took the detective to his bedroom, and handed oyer the money. The accused was remanded to appear at Alexandra on Afa roll 6th, hail being allowed in self £2OO, and one surety of £2OO.
