FLOOD EXPERIENCE

WESTRALIAN TRAIN HOLD-UP. (Australian Press Association), (Received this dnv at. 10 a.m.' PERTH, Feb. 25. Passengers by the Great Western Express arrived at Kalgoorlie after being delayed at Forrest for three days by floods and washaways. All insisted it was a miracle no serious accident occurred. As the train was approaching Forrest on Wednesday passengers were awakened by a terrific jolt, but the guard applied the brakes, and the train passed safely over the damaged rails. When daylight broke, water could be seen rushing over the section just passed, while ahead was a lake of water. On the eastern side of Forrest the lines were suspended four feet in the air, and water between Forrest and Loongana covers the lines to a depth of two feet, and will probably remain for months.
