LONDON, Feb. . 24. The “Daily E press,” (Which throughout has taken a somewbat_ despairing Vjfew., to-day features a - -story by its Conference representative, beaded “Naval Conference. Collapse,” in which it declares that the Conference is elos‘ing down until 1935. ft adds: “This statement probably will be denied by the British spokesman, but it nevertheless is a fact that the Conference has failed for the same reason that the Geneva Conference failed in 1927, namely, insufficient preparation and too many fine phrases. MARKING TIME. LONDON, Feb. 24. The Naval Conference continues to mark time. The only event of importance during file week-end was the announced departure for America on Wednesday of Rear Admiral H. P. Jones, the Chief Naval Adviser to the American Delegation. The official spokesman declares that bis departure is due solely to illness, there being no reason why it should have any effect on the conference.
