Reviewers are praising the latest anonynous war book. “War is War :’’ by ex-private X. Mr R. C. Sherriff describes the book as an English “All Vuiet on the Western Front.” ‘The author bitterly criticises the staff officers and rails against war. He also attacks the Australians. He says “I am sorry the Australians were on our .side. I met some very good ones, but their black sheep achieved extra- | ordinary prominence. They were brave men on the whole, but not nearly such fine fellows as they boasted of being. They kidded the simple people into believing their brag. Still I must sav this for them, they did kill a few of our military police.
