(Clin-- Own Correspondent.) The’death took place at about 9.30 o’cloc'k on Sunday morning of Mr Fred Jones a -very old resident of this district having been born in Ross 62 years ago. The-deceased liad been in .failing health for some months past 4mt'the end cable unexpectedly. On Saturday evening lie was about as usual, being an interested spectator at the bicycle' road race. Th<> Annual Flower Show and Sale of Work in connection. with the Anglican Church took place on Saturday , and was well patronised both during the afternoon and evening. Although the 'season has been exceptionally bad there was a most creditable display of both vegetables and flowers, the numerous entries ' would have done credit to any show in N.Z. , 'A particularly fine Jhsplay -of/pot plants was- exhibited by Mr Whittle and were much admired. The various stall-holders work ed hard and good business was recorded Ml round, 'the takings, being close on £7O.
