THE CAUCUS BEGINS

WELLINGTON, Feb. lb.

The caucus of the New Zealand Parliamentary.' Labour Party commenced its sittings this morning. It is probable that ihei proceedings will continue until to-morrow. 7

Eighteen out of the twenty Labour members of. Parliament were present.

The Leader of the Party, Mr H. E. Holland, presided, while Mr J. Thorn of the New Zealand..Lahour Party) was also present.

A welcome was extended to Mr Walter Naslj, M.P., who was elected tio,represent the Hutt at the bye-elec-tion 'in December.'

A resolution was carried expressing deep regret at the death of Mr P. H. Hickey, \yho was prominent in the Labour Movement in New Zealand for many years, and it was decided to send a message of condolence to Mrs Hiekey at Mel bom ne.
