WESTLAND HOSPITAL BOARD

A special meeting of the Board was held at the Hospital Rooms, Rev ell Street, at 7.30 o’clock. Present: Messrs J. J. Breeze (Chairman), G. Davidson, R. Meliarry, AV. Jeffries, AY. Evenden, M. Keenan, T. AV. Duff, and T. R. Elcock. 'file meeting was called for‘the purpose of considering applications for tiie position of Matron at the AVcstland Hospital. The following applications were received, and the particulars read to the meeting:—
LIST OF APPLICANTS. Isabel Lawson, 'Anderson’s Bay, Dunedin. W. E, AVhitc, Mt. Albert, Auckland. Doris Strongman, AYairoa Hospital, Blenheim. May C. Cullen, Grey River Hospital. Greymoutli.. Ada L. Harris, Owalui, South Otago. Phyllis Rolfs, AVeliington. Isabel M. Sinclair, Waikato IB’splal, Hamilton. Dorothy Smith, AVaikato Hospital, Hamilton. Myrtle A. Hughes, Palmerston North. Francis J. Hakes, Nurses Club, AVeliington. After reading details of the qualifications of the applicants the Board went into Committee to deal with the matter of appointment. A ballot being taken Miss Strongman was selected and her appointment recommended to the Minister of Health. The. Board rose at 8.15 p.m.
