POLITICAL IDEALS. Opportunity—yes! EVery man must have his chance; the State must ensure that there is opportunity for all. But nothing mare. The State must not undertake responsibility for those who will not help themselves. “Something for nothing” must never become the slogan of the people of New Zealand, despite the Labour Party! Of course, the State must continue to assist those who cannot, for good reason, help themselves —the sick, the aged, the disabled.
