Basing a case upon the Ministry of Health reports to the effect that common colds and influenza cost Britain seven million working days per annum. Eight leading industrialists and business- men, headed by Lords Bl.vth and Wakefield, have issued a statement urging employers to spread the knowledge of preventives and ensure medical 'supervision of their workers.

Obituary.—Lord Latham
The “Daily Express” says: “Lord Latham showed unbounded generosity. He lost large sums financing plays and altogether spent sixty-five thousand sterling on the theatre, yet never backed his own plays, saying lie wanted recognition on their merits. He sold the family seat in Lancashire for a quarter of a million and died in a modest house in London.”

Mr Ramsay MacDonald unveiled a granite obelisk memorial to Hon. Andrew Fisher at Hampstead Cemetery, erected by friends of the former Labour Prime Minister.
