While travelling on a velocipede on tlie pailway track between Pukerangi and Flat Stream, Alexander Gray, railway isuirfaceiman, was struck by the night goods train to Cromwell about 10.45 o’clock on Sunday night. When picked up lie was found to be seriously injured, and was placed in the van and conveyed to Middlomarcli Hospital, where lie died. Deceased, who was 45 years of age, and resided at Flat Stream, left home on. the velocipede on Sunday morning f°r Middleman'll, and returned to Pukc r rangi in the afternoon. He stayed there some time, and apparently was on the way home when the train If truck him. Ail inquest was opened at Middleniareli, and evidence of identification was taken.
