CONSPIRACY CHARGE

SYDNEY, February 5

The hearing is proceeding of charges of conspiracy arising out of the affairs of the Property Investment Coy. Ltd. The accused are John Gunn (solicitor), William John Beckett (company manager,) Allan Fraser Howdeu and Harold George Crase. The prosecution stated the. company was formed in 1925, and embarked on a home endowment scheme. The public subscribed £31,000, which was now all gone. Gunn was to receive £2OOO a year as governing director, to have absolute control, and to enjoy unusual privileges. • Witnesses in evidence stated that Howden induced them to take shares in the company, which he described as returning ten to twelve and a half per cent, interest. The case against Crase was struck out. The hearing is unfinished.
