INQUEST VERDICT

LONDON, Jan. 5
The jury returned a verdict at the inquest on the death of Spiers, that he committed suicide during temporary insanity, brought on by the thought of a long term of imprisonment. No fault rested with the prison officials.
.His widow gave evidence that she saw Spiers at the Central Criminal Court after sentence. He said: “Never mind, I cannot possibly get that time.”
She asked: “What about flogging?” and ho replied, “I don’t mind that, it is the ten years to which I object.”

Police speedily falsified a Moscow suggestion that Koutepoff took a huge hunie of money to South America. It is established, that the'whole of the White Russians’ funds are in safe hands.
Three thousand Volunteer Whites are searching Paris for a. grey limousine in which it is believed a bogus policeman kidnapped Koutepoff. Koutepoff* s successor is General Miller!
129 YEARS OLD. RIGA, Feb. o
Mrs Anna Kreisler died, aged 129. She attributed her longevity to a diet of raw herrings dipped in weak black coffee.
Canadian Wireless. OTTAWA, Feb. 5
The Minister of Marine introduced a- Bill in the Commons for the purpose of nationalising radio broadcasting in Canada. There will be a series of super stations erected at the Government’s expense for the encouragement of better Canadian progi’ammes with British and Australian hook-ups, rather than United States, whose wireless now floods the Dominions’ air. >
