At the above yards last Thursday W. Jeffries and 00. held their sufnmer sale of surplus-stock, in the presence oi a large attendance of buyers, ail parts of the district being represented. The yarding comprised 239 head of cattle, 20 fat- sheep, 69 ewes and lambs 4 rams and 1 horse. Competition was %
spirited over the whole fixture and; in only one case did the price not reach the vendor’s idea of value. Fat and forward Shorthorn cross 2J-yi‘. steers made to £l3 7s 6d, toward 2-yr. steel's to £lO 17s 6d, yearling to 18-mos steers to £8 Is, fat cows made to £9 10s, and forward woolly lambs to 19s 9d. - Un the whole sale prices were ccjual to Arahura for ■butchers’ lines.
