Presumably insane, owing to domestic worries, Joanes Harountunin, aged 43 years, an Armenian labourer, ran amok and killed five persons and seriously wounded two otlnirs, ..and then he committed suicide, all within ten minutes. He walked out of his lodging at Marseilles, and met another Armenian, whom he shot fatally with a revolver, without saying a word. He then rushed back to his lodging, wounding his wife. He next entered a neighbour’s house, where he murdered an eighty-five year bid nioman and her two daughters, while dangerously wounding a third. The husband of one of the dead women rushed into the house, only to meet a ibulleb through the heart. Harountunin then walked on to a terrace and blew out his brains.
