COURT NEWS.
[By Telegraph, Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, January 31. The following prisoners were sentenced by Judge Reed: James Maxwell and Jack Messenger, breaking and enering by. night, .-.with intent to commit a crime, each 12 months’ hard labour: Arthur Rouse, ‘breaking, entering and theft, 18 months’ hard labour; Henry Ball, f 55, arson at Palmerston North, two years’ hard labour and declared an habitual criminal: Alexander Kyle, charged jointly with Lewis Arthur Courtney, breaking and entering by night with intent to commit a crime,: whs ordered to come up for sentence • if : called upon within three months, and to leave New Zealand within two months; Courtney was sentenced to two years’ Borstal detention ; Alfred Croft, assault and robbery at Pictoli, two years’ hard labour.
