RISE IN NEW ZEALAND. NEW EXCHANGE RATES. [United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.] WELLINGTON, Jan. 31. The. Chairman of the Associated Banks announces that on and after the first prox., the following rates of interest will be paid to the banks on fixed, deposits For! any period beween three and twelve months, 3] per cent. For any period between twelve and twenty-four months, -1] per cent. For 24 months, 5 per cent. The miniumum overdraft rates will be increased to seven per cent. WELLINGTON, January 31. The Chainhan of the Associated Banks advises that the following rates of exchange, London or New Zealand came into operation on and after January 31: —Buying 70s per cent. discount. 0.D.: selling 47s (id percent, disc., buying 81s 3d per cent, disc., Tbrity days: Buying 92s Oil per cent, disc. Sixty days: Buying 103 s9d per cent. disc. Ninety days buying and 120 days, selling. T/T 40s per cent, disopuht.
