CRICKET
TEAM FOR ENGLAND,
(Australian Press Association)
(Received this day at 8 a.m.) ' SYDNEY Jan. 30. j } Australian cricket enthusiasts are on tip-toes, awaiting the official announcement of the cricket team lor England. There has been considerable speculation whether sixteen or fifteen will be '.selected, and also whether Ryder, the last Australian captain, had justified his inclusion. An official announcement of the team chosen will he made to-morrow afternoon. 'Phe “Sydney Morning Herald” is publishing the team to-morrow, which has every reason to be authentic, wherefrom Ryder is omitted and consisting of lit teen players: —Bradman, Jackson, Kippax, McCabe, Fairfax, Oldfield (N.S.W.) ; A’Beckett, Woodful. Ponsford (Victoria) ; V. Richardson, Grimmett, Walker, Wall (South Australia); Hornibrook, Hurwood (Queensland). The ommission of Ryder and Oxenham is likely to cause considerable heartburning. There is still .a possibility of sixteen players being chosen, and one of these two may be included.
