Theiideath has occurred of-Viscount Esher,.; Governor- bud’ Constable of Windsor Castle, at the age of seven-ty-eight years. The? . Right Honourable Reginald Baliol Brett, second Viscount. Esher was born in London in 1852, the eldest son of the first Viscount Esher, whom he succeeded in 1899. After passing through Eto-n and Trinity College Cambridge, he represented Penryn and Falmouth in the House of Commons from 1880 to 1885, and afterwards served as Secretary to the Office Reconstitution Committee, and President of the Territorial Force Association of the County of London. As a; Deputy-Governor of Windsor Castle,- he had long been, acquainted with‘ the noble structure itself, and withuts literary contents in the shape' of Royal documents and letters, and on the death .of the Marquis of Cambridge he was elevated to the Governorship,; Among lfis publications may be pEintioned “The : Correspondence of Queen Victoria,” “The Girlhood of Queen,, Victoria,”, and “The Influence of. Kltig Edward.”
