At the hearing of the Hatry case, Sir Gilbert Gurnsey described the results.of three, months of investigation. He-said that the total deficiency of the Hatry companies at the date of the liquidation was thirteen and a half millions sterling, on which there was not the smallest prospect of any dividend. The loss to the general public, as distinct from the bankers, stockbrokers and dealers, would not exceed three-quarters of a million. The case for the prosecution has concluded. (Received this day at 3 a.m.) LONDON, Jan. 24. , dross-examination revealed that Hatry had depleted himself of every penny to avert the crash and had thrown in the family settlement amounting to many thousands. He is now faced with bankruptcy.

HATRY GETS 14 YEARS. ALL PLEAD GUILTY. (Received this day at 9.40 a.m.l LONDON, Jan. 24. Hatry, Daniels, Tabor and Dixon withdrew a plea of not guilty and pleaded guilty. The jury returned a verdict of guilty. Hatry was sentenced to fourteen years penal servitude, Daniels »a seven years, Tabor to three years and Dixon to five years. All defenders were found guilty on the charge of forgery of securities. Hatry, Daniels and Dixon pleaded not guilty to charges' of conspiring with Gialdin.e and other persons unknown, to defraud, but guilty to five other charges of obtaining cheques for large amounts by false pretences. Tabor -pleaded not guilty to the whole additional counts, and was formally found not. guilty. Mr Jowitt, K.C., said he did not propose to pr n c»ed with these fresh counts, but asked that they be allowed to remain on the file. He said the money raised l>y false transiers, shares in drapery trusts and associated corporations was nearly seven hundred thousand.
