ADVERTISING CAMPAIGN IN AUSTRALIA.

A vigorous advertising campaign designed to attract Australian to::i----ists to the Dominion is to be commenced forthwith, states the Hon. P. A. do la Porrelle, Minister in charge of the Tourist and Publicity Departments. This campaign will specialty advertise the Blulf-Mclbouriie service and the advantage thus offeiod to the people of Australia to make a tour of the famous resorts of the South island at a moderate cost. “In line with our famous North Island resorts.” said the Minister. “The very best is being done. Both islands have attractions famed, I might say, throughout the world. The executive officers of the departments report that the projected tours of tlie South, which will embrace : lie southern lakes region, the fiords, Mount Cook, and other [daces, will be fixed on an inclusive charge basis, so that those undertaking them will know exactly what the cost is to be Loin the outset.
“J have made arrangements for Mr Collett, acli ■manager of the Tourist Department, to collaborate with Mr Messenger, Publicity Officer, and Mr R. M. Firth, of the New Zealand office in Melbourne, to complete arrangements for the immediate launching of a scheme which is to include window displays, special cinema shows and advertising l in the leading daily newspapers of tlie various States of tlie Commonwealth, also in Tasmania. J feel convinced that as a result of carrying out these plans we will have very many more visitors to our shores than in the past.”
