MR BAVIN’S MISSION.
(Australian Press Association) MELBOURNE, Jan. 17. Tiie Prime Minister, Mr J. 11. Scullin, announced to-night that a settlement of the coal trim tie is not. yet re sight. Mr Scullin’s discussion with Mr Bavin will lie continued to-morrow. Mr Bavin’s principal miss on is to induce Mr Sculiin to disband the Workers’ Defence Corps, r.s being illegal under the Federal constitution. OWNERS SUPPLY SAFETY MEN. SYDNEY, Jan. 17. The Northern coalfields were again quiet to-day. At the mines where the Union safety men have been withdrawn the owners are supplying their own safety men.
