31,500 DEATHS LAST YEAR. [United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.] CHICAGO, Jan. 14. The National Safety Council has announced that the deaths due to automobile accidents in the United States during the ear 1929 totalled 31,500 in 31 States.. More than half of the victims were pedestrians. The total of deaths was thirteen per cent, more than in 1928, while the motor vehicles’ registration increased by only 8 per cent.
