BRITISH POLITICS.

LIBERAL leadership. [United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.] LONDON, Jan. 15. Mr Lloyd George’s personal political fund has long been a bone of contention. It has not needed Lord Grey’s plain speaking to establish the fact that it is the leadership of Air Lloyd George which is still sapping the vitality of the Liberal Party. It is common knowledge, in spite of outward appearances, that the Liberal Party’s differences have not been healed. . It is understood that the trustees of the fund recently offered to make an annual contribution for a limited period. The Daily News says: Lord Grey’s speech adds little to what is already known. Even the announcement by the candidates of the Liberal Council that they will fight with their own money, under their own leadership, does not alter the situation. They did so at last election. The constituencies, concerned are few. The Daily Chronicle is of the opinion that, while there is room for the Liberal Party' alongside Conservatism and Labour, provided that electoral reform is carried. Ihere certainly is not room .or two or more Liberal Parties.
