ADDINGTON STOCK SALE. CHRISTCHURCH, Jan. 15. The entries were mostly smaller today at Addington live stock sale, but the demand was fairly good. Fat Cattle—There was a smaller yarding of fat cattle, principally of cow beef, the quality being only fair. There was a good demand. Heavy steers sold £2O to £23 6s 6d, prime £l7 to £l9 ss, mediums £l6 to £l7 ss, light from £ll 10s. . Heavy heifers sold £l4 to £ls os, prime £ll los to £l3 12s 6d, medium £9 os to £lO los. Plain heifers sold from £7 10s Heavy cows fetched £l4 10s to £ls 15s, prime £lO to £l2 10s, medium £8 os to £9 os, plain and unfinished from £5 os. Sheep—There was a. fair yarding of fat sheep, only a small percentage being of the best quality. They mostly were mixed lots. Extra prime wethers sold from 32s to 345, prime 29s to 3us 6d, medium 26s 6d to 28s 6d, light 24s to 265. Extra prime ew;es sold 26s to 30s, prime 235-to 255, medium 18s to 225, light and aged from 1.55. Lambs—There was a medium yarding of fat lambs, including a large percentage of light stuff. Thp competition was keen, and showed a slight advance. Extra prime lambs sold up to 29s lOd, prime 26s 6d to 28s 6d, medium 23s 6d to 25s 6d, light or plain from 19s 6d. There was a large entry of store lambs. The market was slightly firmer for quality lines, with a better demand for first glass stuff. Old ewes were harde'r to quit. Pigs—There was a smaller yarding of fat pigs. Competition was brisk for/ porkers and haconers. Choppers were easier.
