OCEAN RACE,

(Australian Press Association) (Received this day at 8 a.m.) SYDNEY, Jan. 13. The ocean yacht race, Sydney to Broken Bay and back for the Basin Cup was won by Vanessa (time 3 hours 58 niinutes 27 seconds. The Rawhiti was second, Morna third and Bona fourth.

A fresh breeze made the race exciting. Morna led all the way, but an adjustment of the allowance placed her third. Two boats, Brand V. and Utitiki sheltered at Broken Bay, while the Mom lost a mast in a squall, the Bonn’s skipper, R. L. Patrick, jeopardising her chances of success "by going to the crippled craft’s assistance. The Morn was sailing well when the mast went.
