HULL TO BE STRIPPED

DUNEDIN, January 11

Tenders for stripping the hull of the wrecked steamer Manuka at Long Point have been received by Messrs Broderick and Chalmer, Dunedin, in accordance with instructions received from London. The acceptance of a tender has been left in*‘abeyance, but it is expected that one will be decided ujjtm during the coming week. It is reported that the Manuka has broken in half, and that the after portion of the hull has settled down on the sea bed.’’ It'is also reported that the after holds are still intact, colour being lent to this statement by the fact that no wreckage has been washed ashore during the past few days.
