DOMINION TOURNEY OPENS.

DUNEDIN, Jan. 13. The Dominion bowling tourney opened this morning with the singles, 116 players participating on eleven greens. The weather is dull with little rain for a week, the greens are in good order. The visitors were formally welcomed ,by Mr C. J, Fayite (President) before play started. There are 176 pairs to compete and 90 rinks, only 10 of which are from the North Island. 1
RAIN PREVENTS PLAY.
GISBORNE, Jan. 13
The Canadian-'bowlers visit to Gisborne was married by wet weather which prevented p\'ay. on,: (Saturday afternoon. The team were: officially received by the Mayor and entertained at Gisborne Bowling Club’s green; also in visits to Homes and a.tour of the country. They left for papier this morning. ,-vv^w-.
