The second day of the. Thames meeting commenced in overcast weather, which lasted until the third race when there was a thunderstorm and heavy rain. Later the weather cleared The attendance .was good. Jne course was inclined to be heavy after a night’s rain, and beeamo heavy during the afternoon. Tunc Turua Handicap.—(3) Big Bertha 1, (71 Valstreet 2, (1) On Top 3. Won by a length and a half; a head. Time 1.19 3-5. Thames Plate.—(l) Tanaenn 1, U) Sir Russell 2, (21 Maori Boy 3. Won by a length and a half each way. Time 1.48 4-5.
Hikutaia Hack.—(3) Snow Prince 1, (7) Grchns 2, (61 Quinsillia 3. Won by four lengths; two lengths. Time 1.34. President’s Handicap.—(4) Big Bertha 1. ,(51 Patero 2, (21 Billikins 3.
