A labourer, Owen Barber, -15, who comes from Christchurch was committed for sentence in the Supreme Court on a- charge of bigamy. He admitted in the Police Court to-day having, in October, 1000, married Mairrion Thompson at Christchurch, and in' September, 1028, went through a, marriage ceremony with Roberta Florence Agatha Gardiner at Kawakawa. T-T", told Miss Gardiner he was a single man and that ON name was William Webster Cook.

The Gazette to-night announces that the Admiralty notice to mariners, No. 660 of 1929, with reference to wireless messages to merchant ships, is revised. New conditions are laid down under which messages considered to he of sufficient importance will be broadcasted to all British merchants .ships in any part of the world.

SUDDEN DEATH

WELLINGTON. Jan. 9

When the coastal steamer Nikau arrived from French Pass this morning, it was found that one of her passengers Robert Arnold Fuller, aged 58, had died on board The deceased was a prominent business man of Palmerston North, and had been spending a holiday with his wife, son and daughter at French Pass. The trip % across the Strait was very rough and Air Fuller ■was violently ill. When his son attempted to wake him this morning he received no response, and Dr Slater, who was called, pronounced life extinct, his death being caused by heart failure
