MODERNISING STATIONS.

SYDNEY, Jan. 10. In furtherance of its plan to modernize Pacific wireless stations under its control, the. New Zealand Government has commissioned the Amalgamated Wireless of Australasia to initial a new transmitter at Rarotonga replacing the older equipment. This station will then form an important link in the all-red work of wireless spanning Oceania, the centre of which is Suva. The Raratonga station will be used chiefly to link up with Wellington and Apia.
