NAVAL CONFERENCE.
PRAYERS ASKED FOR. [United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.] LONDON, Jan. 7. The Archbishops of Canterbury and York, and tbe heads of the Evangelical Free Churches in England and Wales, have issued a simultaneous appeal, similar in terms, calling on their congregations to set aside .January 19th as a day of prayer for the success of tbe Naval Conference, which, they say, is the most important international conference since the Versailles Conference.
The aplpeal states that the failure of the conference would be a serious set-back to international peace, and that a success would lift the heavy burden of armaments, and would largely complete international security. It points out that churches in the United States are observing a day of prayer on behalf of the conference.
