for Australians to replace the lost income from wool and loans. It can only be done by getting more out of our own lands, labour, capital and management, either by providing and exporting more to pay for the former level of imports, or by producing more to pay for local production of the same goods. The latter is obviously the best course, but it requires lower round. The loss of present overseas income is inevitable, and unless we replace it by greater production per head in Australia the loss will be largely conceutrated on the unemployed.” That is the New Zealand problem also.
