ENGLISH RACING. STEEPLECHASE INCIDENT. (By Telegraph—Press Association). (Received this day at 8 a.m.) LONDON, Jan. 4. Two horses competed in White Lodge Steeplechase at Haydock Park to-day, Sardonyx and The Breezer. The former fell at the second fence but was remounted and started in pursuit of The Breezer which still was leading wnen he fell at the last fence. Miss Jean Sanday. daughter of The Breezer’s trainer rushed to the course, mounted the horse find tried to catch Sardonyx, amid wild cheering, hut failed. The stewards were uncertain if The Breezer was entitled to second place and referred the matter to the National Hunt Committee.
