There were cheering thousands in the streets as the Princess Marie Jose drove to the railway . station to join the Italian Royal train for Rome, where she is to be married to Prince Umberto. The train was unrivalled in its splendour, its magnificent dining room having been decorated by the foremost Italian artists. The’J’ri&ess was. accompanied .by dheir -Belgian Majesties and by/a large, suite, Elaborate police precautions have bpen taken to ensure the safety of the train which will be preceded by pilot engines. The ex-Crown Prince Rupprecht of Bavaria, who is the uncle of the bride, will attend the wedding. Jt will be the first meeting of the bro-ther-in-law' and the (Belgian King since their relations wero broken off during the war. ROME EN FETE. ROME, Jan; 4. There will be more picturesque pageants for-the whole week and the Eternal City will he en fete for the Royal wedding. LONDON, Jan. 4. The Duke of York has gone to Rome to attend .the Italian-Belgian royal wedding. He will be absent for a week.
