A. M ALKIE'S NEW RECORD. ' (By Telegraph--Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, December 30. At Manukau Amateur Cycling Club’s sports at Western Spring’s Stadium to-night, A Mackie, formerly of Christchurch, broke the five miles motor paced record, established by H. Opperman, the Australian champion, at Christchurch last week. Mackie’s time was 7 minutes 32 2-5 seconds, against Operman’s 8 minutes 27 seconds. Mackie was paced by his brother, W. Mackie,.. the former hold of New Zealand cycling championships.
