The New Zealand Publicity Branch reports unprecedented interest in New Zealand affairs, scenery and industrial products throughout Europe, particularly Germany. Holland and Belgium, whence there are many inquiries from newspapers for photographs. A German periodical published a page of scenery and Maoris, in which they arc specially interested. They are also greatly interested in (lax. r l lie department lias over five hundred photographs circulating on the continent, in addition to supplying Belgo-German and Dutch syndicates with educational films and lantern slides, resulting in a ranid increase of the demands for honey and apples. New Zealand, is not troubled in placing films in England, although they are silent, Mr Drew, publicity officer, stated they were showing at an average of fifteen theatres daily throughout the year, mostly in the provinces, despite the fact that they were neither talkies nor .sound films. Many managers were saying that the public prefer silent pictures.
