FRED SMITH’S DANCE ORCHESTRA
The above orchestra arrived by ear yesterday, and last evening played for the annual ball of the Ka-uieri Tennis Club. The ball was packed to capacity, and the large crowd present enjoyed every minute of the function. The band was voted to be the best combination of musicians who have visited these parts. The first saxophonist (51 r Ross IJoyd) is a wonderful player, and the manner in which he plays his instrument, together with the clarionet, is amazing. sfr Tims Hughes (trumpet and trombone) is also a master of his instruments. The orchestra is booked to play at tbe Soldiers’ Hall this evening, and an enjoyable evening is assured for those attending. Woodstock is being visited on sfonday evening, and conveyances will be arranged for those town patrons who wish to attend.
