MATAINUI NOTES

(From a Correspondent.) A cricket match was held at Matainui on the 15th inst. 'between Wataroa and ’YVeheka teams, which resulted in a win for the home team who scored 59 runs against Weheka’s 30 runs. As the day was a beautiful one both the visitors and the spectators seemed to enjoy the outing .and the game was a very pleasant one. .Several matches are to be contested by the different districts for a very nice, oup donated to the Wataroa Club by Mr P. J. Purcell, of Matainui.
