The weather was fine for the resumption of the match between AVellington and AI.C.C., and the wicket appeared to be in good order. Gilliga.ii (8) and Dawson (4) resumed England’s second innings at 11.30. Badeoek and AlcGirr opened the attack, the latter’s first ball dismissing Gilligan, who hit a full toss back to the bowler. 14—1—8. Dulecpsinbji was next and at noon the score was one for 29. Duleepsinliji and Dawson settled down and runs came .steadily, 60 appearing on the board after fifty minutes. Duleepsinliji delighted the crowd with a number of crisp shots and at 12.30 the score was one for 86, Duleepsinliji 11, Dawson 31, extras 3. Duleepsinliji and Dawson continued to bat bnsldy and the total mounted at a good rate. At lunch the score was one for 162. Duleepsinliji i2, Dawson 69, extras 3.
